GUY MCCARTER

Guy McCarter was most recently a Senior Vice President with MediaLink, a consultancy that works with companies in the media, technology and entertainment industries. Guy’s focus is working with a portfolio of content production and media companies such as Google/YouTube, VEVO, Shine, Epix and Maker Studios. He works with these companies in developing go-to-market strategies and creating revenue acceleration opportunities through Guy’s extensive experience and relationships with brand marketers and their agencies.

Prior to MediaLink, Guy was the Managing Director of Green Room, Omnicom Media Group’s (OMG) Content and Entertainment unit. Green Room developed, negotiated and activated multi-platform, content-based initiatives on behalf of blue-chip marketers like Pepsi, Intel, Hershey, Lowe’s and Hilton.

Guy has worked in the media industry since 1985 when he joined BBDO New York as a media planner. He transitioned into the BBDO Entertainment unit in 1995 and in 1998 became head of that unit as a Senior Vice President. He joined OMD at its inception in 2000 to run its content unit.

Under Guy’s leadership and creative direction, Guy’s work has captured numerous prestigious awards on behalf of his clients, including the Cannes Lion, One Show Pencil, and W3 Award for digital content.

A recognized leader and pioneer in the branded content arena, Guy’s talents have not gone unnoticed: he is a two-time recipient of Mediaweek’s Most Creative Use of Media Award as well as being named a Media Maven by Ad Age and a Media All-Star by Adweek.

Guy was born and raised in Los Angeles and received a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.  He lives in Manhattan with his wife and two children.
